Thanks for the info, Eric. Cutting Edge sells an LG GSA-4163B internal for $61. I want external, so they said they could put it in a case for an additional $32.00. There are 32 reports about this drive on the website you mentioned below. At first, I couldn't find any entries at all, but after I left all the fields blank except for the drive number (GSA-4163B), 32 came up. Some of the reports are quite technical, but it appears it will work with my iBook G3, although I might need something like Patchwork 3. I'm not sure what this Patchwork is exactly yet. Does anyone know? So, Tee, do you think this is a good bet for me, or does anyone have any comments? iBook G3 900 OS 10.3.8 I use dial-up. I gather that firewire is the best port to use. I think I have a firewire port. Not sure. Is it the one that has sort of v-shape underneath the port? I have two USB ports. Pls advise. Thanks.
