Having demo¹d at both Best Buy and Future Shop for the same product, I can
say there is a huge difference in the approach to the sale of product. Of
the two, I prefer Best Buy.
There are two main differences that need to be pointed out.
Best Buy has a reward points earning/redemption plan and Future Shops does
not. Future Shop allows some flexibility on price and Best Buy is rigid.
Both, however, will price match. Best Buy has Apple staff onsite with a
large Mac display for test-drives. So, in the end, it would be beneficial to
buy at one of these locations if the afore-mentioned benefits would offer
you some benefit. Afterward, have it serviced where you get superior
service.
However, there is also merit to paying slightly more and supporting
privately owned businesses who put real food on real people¹s tables.
