To fill you in on the blog test - there have been requests to put up
notice of meetings off of the Freewebs Muglo website. Freewebs free
accounts are limited to a three step process to upload any new html.
And only if you have the passwords, of course.

I figured the best way to do this was to provide a link to a second
page - which could dynamically change - with that information . It's
easy enough for someone then to upload a new "muglomeets.html" page
and it would automatically replace the previous one.

So that ability would be limited to admin persons -or persons with the
password, and, of course, blogs can be set up to accept multiple
'editors' or contributors.

The only real difference for the blog format over a fixed html page is
that the blog system includes RSS feeds. Anyone could subscribe to the
blog and get a notice of new posts with a link url to view the post.
Everyone already has an RSS reader: Safari, and Mail.

Meeting notices should be posted to the mailing list. Of course, only
members see that. The point is that an external page of html or a blog
post allow non-listers to see the information - so the page is more
like a freely viewable poster for anyone who stumbles across the link.
