CBC does have an alternative streaming format called .ogg. I've been
sucking programs off CBC radio 1 for approx. two years now, and, for a
year with the .ogg format.

If you're up for some command-line magic, check out my post from last year =

It's quite simple to set-up (provided you're up for some command-line
getting your hands dirty) and Mac OS X fully supports all those
commands (provided you install them ;-).

I suspect that there are some Mac OS X apps which can now play .ogg
streaming files. Check out

You could use the .ogg stream combined with Wiretap to do what you're
doing with WMP.
