Greetings All:

This is the first of the four best weekends in Lubbock for migrating
songbirds in fall. We generally get a bit of interesting weather at this
time of year and unsettled conditions encourage at least a few wee birdies
to drop in and stay awhile. Today was not one of those days but I did
visit twice, once in morning (7:30 to 9:30) and once in evening (5:30 to
7:30), spent identical periods of time at the site, and walked the same
exact route during both visits - leading to some interesting comparisons;
particularly for non-birds.

The visits yielded morning/afternoon
