Jennifer,
The Tern was in the same place it was yesterday – on the East side of the West
Island standing on the shore (about 33.543684, -101.948706). It was there
around 10:45 am but I didn’t watch to see if it left. I think the Pelicans
flew off around 9:15 am and so I missed them by a good 30 minutes.
Hope you find the Tern
Joe
What is going on?!? First the common yellowthroats and now the tern! I looked,
but didn’t see it this am. I imagine you started at McAlister before me even
though we were there at the same time for a bit. Did the tern leave? Did I just
miss seeing it? Were pelicans leaving when you arrived? (Sorry for all the
questions, most of your message is garbled on my phone and I’m not near a
computer to check).
Thanks,
Jennifer

Subject: [leasbirds] Spotted Sandpipers and Forster's Tern at McAlister
I saw three Spotted Sandpipers and a Forster’s Tern at McAlister this morning
along with the usual suspects… Just missed the American White Pelicans ☹
