Went to all three today hoping for some shorebirds. As Joe mentioned,
Spotted Sandpipers were at McAlister...I saw 2 of them and I missed the
tern again. There were just a few Black-necked Stilts and Avocets. They
were grading the trails and/or mowing.
98th & Milwaukee only had a couple of Black-necked Stilts and an American
Avocet.
103rd and Slide had 3 Blue-winged Teals, 2 Cinnamon Teals, and 5 Wilson's
Phalaropes as well as a few Avocets and Black-necked Stilts.
And that was it. Pretty slow day so far. Hope more shorebirds are on the
way, but its pretty close to when they should reaching their breeding
grounds.
