southeast of Ransom Canyon.
I was really looking for wildflowers, but it turned into a great birding
adventure thanks to the buntings. There is, however, a HUGE patch of Wild
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza lepidota) and a patch of what I think is Western
Horsenettle (Solanum dimidiatum) down in that area. A few Fulvia Checkerspots
(writing this in plural seems like a big deal; I've only ever seen one in my
life. Anthony has surely seen dozens.) were enjoying the wildflowers.
