The new color tags don't force the previous color tags closed, they just
leave them pending, waiting for the current color to be closed.
Each of the colors should have had a matching end tag. Since the last color
tag didn't have a match, the final hint was left in the orange color; had
the orange been closed, then it would have been blue; had the blue been
closed, then it would have been pink, etc.

[purple]  log [/purple]
[green]  log [/green]
[yellow]  dead log [/yellow]
[pink] close to green [/pink]
[blue] nest [/blue]
[orange] base [/orange]
[final] perched
