Interesting enough, 1 week prior to my introduction to geocaching, I was on a
flightr from SF to Houston (with a free upgrade to 1st class) when I was
exposed to my first GPSr. The gentleman sitting next to me was verifying
altitude and speed as stated by the pilot. The flight attendants were also
interested, but from a curiousity stance, not one of security, or potential
inteference to electronics. On subsequent trips I have hooked up my laptop and
openly operated my GPSr while showing progress to other passengers and flight
attendants w/o any negative responses. It's been a while since I looked at the
pages of inflight magazines to verify, but in the past GPSrs were not listed a
prohibbited, though this may have been prior to recent popularity.

there was this one time and it was very cool. Not too sure if they would
appreciate it if they caught me though. They are strictly prohibited while
in flight..
