- I did a google search last week and the Phranks were on top. But after having two emails returned I gave up. I tried again using Jim Thomas, so far so good. They really have a great idea of powering the GPS through the serial port cable attached to a laptop. It'll even work with a USB port! And the cable prices are very reasonable. That'll cut down on cable clutter if you ever use your GPSR and laptop together. If I ever get another laptop I'll be sure to use their wiring diagram to make up that cable. Speaking of that, does anyone have a laptop running XP for sale ? We've also been thinking of getting a Palm or similar device. RGS recommeded getting the PPC version. Anyone have one of those for sale cheap ? You can contact me off list, barramus at hotmail.
