[GeoStL] Finding but, not logging caches

I visited one of my caches today and found that there have been 5 finds
recorded in the log but, only 3 of them have been logged @
geocaching.com
Is this something that is encountered often? I'm a competitive type of
guy so, I don't get why someone would go to the effort of finding a
cache & then not log it. Unless they just aren't concerned with keeping
track.
