Roger, these are some very balanced points and very well made!
The updating thing is quite interesting! They do happen very
frequently, so could you perhaps expand on what we should do, or
should not do when this is taking place please?
Did you say you've sent in 3 units? That seems a highish number?
Hopefully Google is playing a Role here in finding some
resolutions especially with their vast resources, and I do
realise that the Touch is a miniscule blimp on their enormous
radar!

Subject: [BNU] BrailleNote Touch issues?
Hi BrailleNote users:
Humanware offers choices if you are not happy with your touch
you bought from them or a dealer.
you can return your touch in the first 30 days for a full
refund, as long as you send the unit back in the same condition
you received it and all accessories and packaging are included.
They also offer 4 day turn around with repairs of the touch, I
have had that experience with three units sent in and had them
back in less than 14 days or 8 work days!
They also offer trade ins up to $800 towards the purchase of a
new touch 32 for a working or non working units as trade in
credit.
You also can purchase the customer care package 1 or 2 year
package which HumanWare gives you a free loaner delivered in 2
business days, while your unit is in for repairs.
The issues of the unit freezing up most likely is the end-users
did not turn off automatic updates of APPS, which you can do
under the Google playstore, because if you have automatic APPS
updates on, your unit will not be able to do anything until all
the updates are done. This happens about every week or so, since
Google android operating system is constantly updating
frequently!
If your braille display freezes up and shows enabling keysoft and
doesn't seem to change at all or almost never, that could be from
theh earlier hardware issue, which Humanware has resolved in all
future units sold.
The drivers for screne readers have ben sent out to theh
manufacturers of the major screne readers and the touch works
great with IOS apple products in the soon to be release Keysoft
2.0, probably this week, unless something shows its ugly head.
For those who are having issues with your Touch unit, , your
dealer should stand behind you and help you resolve any issues
with your touch, at least that is what my company offers for
those who purchase from Adaptive Information Systems inc.
I would be more than happy to talk to any Touch owner, whether
you bought your unit from my company or not to assist you with
issues you are experiencing with your touch.
