First BrailleNote Touch software update is available
With enhancements to sharing with cloud-based file services, full camera
support and significant improvement to sound quality
HumanWare is excited to announce the first firmware update for the
BrailleNote Touch; version 1.01, which contains several improvements. Some
of the highlights of this version are:
Upgraded internal speaker audio volume and quality. Now enjoy your
BrailleNote Touch with a fuller audio experience
Updated video decoders. Now popular apps such as Netflix, MLB AtBat video
and BBC iPlayer are supported at the best quality provided by the content
provider.
The camera is activated and fully supported.
Braille is now supported in many webviews. If an app developer built
accessibility into their webview portion of their app, the Touch will show
the content in braille.
Added a quick sharing option to allow you to instantly share files to any
cloud service directly from the file manager, making it even easier to
upload your files and to work together with your classmates or colleagues.
Many more bug fixes and stability improvements.
You will receive a notification telling you the version is available. Simply
press a cursor router key on that notification and the update process will
begin. You can also manually check for the update by opening your "All
applications" menu, and pressing enter on the KeyUpdater app. This will
instantly tell you if an update is found when you are connected to the web.
Note that depending on your internet speed, the amount of time it takes to
download and update your touch can vary, averaging around 30 minutes to do
the full update process.
We at HumanWare want to thank everyone for their excitement surrounding the
BrailleNote Touch. The inspiring stories about how users are using their
Touches in their daily lives, continues to drive us to make the world's
first Google certified braille tablet, the best efficiency tool for all
braille users.
We hope you enjoy version 1.01 and look forward to continuously bringing you
regular Touch updates. Do not hesitate to contact your local HumanWare
office or distributer if you have any questions.
