[BNU] Weird Numbering Issue

Hi all,
Sometimes, my Apex will randomly change the numbering in a
document that I have received or one that I created.
So, if a file starts with 1. - when this happens, it looks like:
1.iea.iea.
It will even go on and on like this, filling up the entire
display. Does anyone know what causes this, or how it can be
fixed (without manually deleting the unnecessary characters)?
