You might be better to go with Fine Reader 7 by ABBY as a just stand alone.
It does work with a screen reader with some tweaking. And doesn't offer the
tools or real flexibility but does work beautifully with books.

stare up the steps - we must step up the stairs.

Subject: [bksvol-discuss] scanning software

I've been considering getting a scanner and some accessible software to go
with it. Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to get something like Open
Book or K1000. I was just wondering if anyone has ever used Text Cloner. I
found it on the www.readingmadeeasy.com website. It's scanning sofware that
will work with a screen reader. Has anyone tried it? Does anyone know if
it's worth it to buy? It's much less expensive than the others so I was
looking into it. If anyone has any information on this, I'd really
appreciate it.
