I selected recognize images and then hit the scan button. Well, either it
is recognizing or it is just sitting there giggling at me. Is there any
way to know which since nothing is being announced?
Are those .tif files saved or do I lose them if I exit the program?

E, Go back into the scan dialogue under settings, then select "recognize images". It's another choice in the place where you told it to just scan images. Hth, Kellie
