Thanks everyone; I'm pretty sure I'm not blind enough to be a bookshare
member, which is why I stopped my membership application some time ago (I
have enough credits to pay for the membership; I gather from Roger's note
I won't qualify be able to borrow the cctv; I'll order one from Amazon; if
I it won't help me as I hope I can return it; back to work; in addition
to the book I'm in the process of proofingI have couple of more mentally
lined up; ) haven;t checked them out them yet); I'll see if they're still
available; if not Amanda says there are some other Wish list books I can do(
the ones I have in mind are Y.A. wish list books

Where in California do you live? There are centers for the blind where you
can go and look at CCTVs to get an idea of how they may help you. Some of
our volunteers live in California and might have ideas. And, you may well
qualify for Talking Book services from the National Library Services. If
you enjoy reading large print books I have several I’d be glad to send you
that you could keep or pass on. I could send you a list. Just tonight I
came across The large print edition of The Right Jack, a mystery by
Margaret Maron which Sandi scanned and Elizabeth proofread for Bookshare.
Please keep us posted because with Bookshare and other resources, like
us, nothing will stop you from reading!

Cindy, if you qualify for a CCTV then surely you qualify to be a Bookshare

Bob Snyder sent me the name and phone number of a person to contact at
the Coast Technology Institute: Paul Mortola to see if I'd qualify for
borrowing one of the cctvs (I think that's what they're called so I
could try it and see if it would work for me before I buy one; I called
him and left my telephone number, saying I have Voice Mail and he can leave
a message, and I carefully gave him my email address so he can email me
and and send me an application to see if I qualify to borrow for a while one
of the cctvs; He hasn't responded to either my email or my phone message;
