Hi everyone,
Hereâs what weâve come up with after conversations with blind and sighted staff members regarding asterisks: Spaces between the asterisks are not necessary. Naturally, we do not want the lack of spaces to cause Word to change the asterisks into a weird line of squares or strange characters, so make sure to keep them as three asterisks. I found Marilynâs instructions especially clear and concise so Iâm reposting them here:
After you put those three asterisks and press [Return], the first turns into a bullet. Do a Command Z ("undo") and it will revert the bullets back to stars.
Or what I usually do is type two [Returns]s in a row, go to the top blank line I just made, put the three asterisks (with spaces or not, it doesn't matter) and then I arrow down one line and that's where the text goes.
As always, feel free to contact me directly with questions!
Best,
