If LOX-Methane isn't exciting enough, can I suggest ozone and
acetylene as a mono propellant?
This combination is actually a problem in liquid nitrogen/oxygen
plants. Happens that ozone is an atmospheric trace substance around
many such plants and they frequently make acetylene at the same
locations. Wasn't a problem till they got the run time for the plants
up to around a year, then one of them would unexpectedly blow up.
Turned out that the ozone and acetylene froze out in the heat
exchangers.
Let me know if you are going to try this because I want to be a long
way back when you do.
