The independence in my country, Brazil, happened because many of the
royalty and nobility prefer with almost 9million sq of land than returning
to Portugal. The thing is that they ran away from Napoleon by ships, but
found it to be more profitable to stay here.
Perhaps, if there was no USA independence, Napoleon would be able to make
the English crown run away too, and the same would happen there.
