I'm trying to get an understanding of the number of lines of code that may
be required for a Fly By Wire Flight Control System for a manned Air /
Spacecraft. (runway capable - it has wings). Also the magnitude from
basically it works to fully tested for commercial ops.
This would include fully automated flight (unmanned) from runway takeoff to
runway landing. I will add it also has the capability to land vertically.
I can't find any applicable references online (so far) other than the 8
million plus LOC for the F35 and 18 million for the Boeing 787 that seams
rather overkill?
I was contemplating the use of a successful basic, autonomous small UAV off
the shelf system that does both runway and VTOL flight as a starting point
and build out and up from there. There are also several early successful
eVTOL flights taking place that are at least a reference compared to the
heavy metal FBW aircraft.
Experienced input fully appreciated. This is to develop a phased budget ...
Cheers,
