We are happy to invite doctoral candidates and young scholars to submit a paper to the 1st international oikos UNDP Young Scholars Development Academy on the topic of “Growing Inclusive Markets”.
The Academy provides PhD students and young scholars a platform to present and discuss their ongoing research with fellow students and senior faculty. We aim to attract papers fostering entrepreneurial solutions with regard to how businesses and other stakeholders can build markets that include the poor and create opportunities for human development that actively take into account environmental and social resources and limits. Feedback will be given by
Jonathan P. Doh, Herbert G. Rammrath Chair in International Business, Villanova School of Business, USA
Ashok Som, Associate Professor, ESSEC Business School, France
David Wheeler, Dean, Faculty of Management, Dalhousie University, Canada
The interactive programme will encompass participants' presentations, professional development roundtables, social events and a practitioner day with responsAbility Social Investments Ltd., Zürich.
To allow in-depth discussions the academy is limited to 15 PhD students and young scholars. Please send us your proposal abstract (max. 2-3 pages), a short curriculum vitae and a letter of interest until September 30, 2009 to development@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
We thank UNDP GIM, Mercator Foundation Switzerland, ResponsAbility and NextBillion for supporting this project.
