Not only is it butt-ugly but DOS batch stuff is not fully portable
even across Windows itself. In other words - beware of "slight
improvements" in way Windows shell behaves as you go up the
version ladder...
To preserve (whatever is left of) sanity I use following metrics:
- Any script longer than 5 lines should NOT be done as DOS batch
script at all (I use Python but YMMV).
