I figured out a different method using a combination of CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO BACKED UP 1 TIMES TO DEVICE TYPE DISK APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY; delete archivelog all completed before 'sysdate -2'; But your method combines both into one statement which is nice. Is this possible ? For instance this will delete all the archive logs backed up (regulated by rman archive log deletion policy) Run { backup as compressed backupset archivelog all delete all input; } This would delete archive logs- delete archivelog all completed before 'sysdate -7'; What I am looking for is deleting them based on date, and that they have been backed up.
