I used to be able to read the stamp amount, but a few years ago, they took up more of the stamp with a design or something and I couldn't find the amount any more. I have so little mail these days that the mail carrier commented about it. I suspect we all get less mail due to the economy; I heard a news item last week indicating that the U.S. postal service is considering (again!) not delivering on Saturdays; usually that idea gets tossed out, but maybe this time it will happen. Reading postage stamps has been a challenge; sometimes it's been easy to see the word "USA" in upper case, and below it, the number of cents followed by the cents sign. These days, though, I guess the color is different because it's not easy to figure out the amount. The cost of postage keeps going up. There are "forever" stamps, which I haven't purchased, but apparently they're quite popular. Has anybody figured out any techniques for reading stamps and other small items?
