Hello Friends,
This is Richard Oehm from Oehm Electronics. Yes: some Optacon users
still use the Smith Corona Coronamatic typewriters and the associated
TSI typewriter lens modules with these typewriters. One of My Optacon
customers has had excellent luck purchasing a wide variety of the Smith
Corona Coronamatic typewriter ribbon cartridges from a small company in
Dunkirk New York. The name of this outfit is Will's repair service.
Their address is 5117 Fairlane ST. Dunkirk New York 14048. You can
telephone them at (716) 366-1424. They have a wide variety of these
Smith Corona Coronamatic ribbon cartridges in stock, including the very
hard to find correction ribbon cartridges. They also repair the Smith
Corona Coronamatic typewriters. This information is now approximately
one year old, so if anyone on the list contacts these folks and acquires
ribbon cartridges or has their typewriter repaired, please update this
information about their stock of correction ribbon cartridges ETC. To
My knowledge, the only replacement ribbon cartridge still manufactured
for the Smith Corona Coronamatic typewriters is the standard black film
ribbon cartridge. This means that the other types of Smith Corona
Coronamatic ribbon cartridges available from Will's repair service are
from their surplus inventory, and there must be a finite supply of these
other ribbon cartridges. I hope some of you find this information
useful. Take care, and Happy Holidays to all.
