Well I think that it would very much depend on his level.
Let's not be cavalere about this guys, using the optacon takes a lot of work
and determination
No matter how determined you can't just pick up the optacon and read
everything, you have to really work at it.

Hello List!
I set my subscription to vacation mode in august, 2009, and was glad and
surprised to find my address still active. <smile> I am now back with a
question for a friend.
He would like to take a course in Ancient Greek over the summer. He has not
used the Optacon in over 20 years; but is hoping/willing to try to bring up
his speed in hopes of reading ancient Greek texts during the course. I am
sending him an Optacon. As a matter of fact, he sent his to me several
years ago.
Has anyone had experience reading ancient Greek texts? Would any current
Greek text use the same character and font set as the ancient language?
Does anyone know where he might find a source for such text in print or
Braille? The instructor is interested, but has never worked with a blind
student.
I have forwarded the list address to John, and have suggested he join.
