Oh yes, that's a great use for it. I've done that before, both with cold
cuts and with meat that they wrap at the meat counter and label.

Subject: [optacon-l] Another Uase for the Optacon

Good evening folks.

I've just discovered another use for our beloved opta. Let's see, how to
explain. I love cold cuts. I don't buy pre-packaged, preferring to go to the
deli counter at the supermarket, and buy cold cuts in small quantities.
Recently, the meats are now wrapped in cellophane, and placed in ziplock
bags. Then a sticker is applied. On a hunch, I took one such bag out of the
fridge, to see if I can read it with the optacon. Eureka! It worked! I
guess the stickers are pre-printed. I guess they must have a template set
up. All the clerk has to do is punch in the price. How neat it was to be
able to distinguish the different kinds of cold cuts I'd bought today.
