every now and then i have to leave the city and get back to the wild.  i'm
sure you know the feeling.  at the last LEAS meeting the guest speaker
indicated he had heard a bell's vireo at caprock canyon so wednesday i
headed north to not only do a little hiking and birding but also to check
out the spring bison calves.  it's always interesting to see what you can
discover when hiking in these canyons.  i did manage to grab up another
lifer-an eastern kingbird-hoorah.

“life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming-WOW-WHAT A
RIDE!”
