Greetings All:
This looks to be a reasonably strong front with winds from the north and
good rain bands scattered throughout the region tonight, tomorrow, and
into
Sunday. This is just the sort of system that has, historically, dropped
good numbers of migrant songbirds in our region.
My yard has already experienced a slight uptick in birds I had yet to see
this season including a couple of Common Nighthawks overhead (after the
first rain), a House Wren in my backyard brush pile (during the first
rain)
and, just now, a new bird for the yard (at least since I've been here) in
the form of a very agitated Cassin's Kingbird trying to settle into my big
pecan tree - over the objections of the resident pair of Western Kingbirds
nesting in my big fruitless mulberry. Hopefully, the kingbirds will sort
it out as things look to be getting a bit rugged.
IN OTHER WORDS - TOMORROW COULD BE A GOOD DAY TO GET OUT AND LOOK FOR
TASTY
