Not just eagles but millions of birds, they say. Ways to prevent this. (1)
Don't hunt unless you can shoot well, don't shoot unless you have a good shot,
and always extract the bullet from your kill. (2) Use non-lead bullets.
Serious problem with shooting feral hogs often by helicopter and leaving the
carcasses for buzzards and eagles and ground scavengers. They don't mention
hogs but I imagine that is a big part of the problem. Helicopter hunters use
a lot of bullets.
Questions: Do full metal jacketed bullets help? Do bullets have to be solid
copper? How about bismuth?
