Woodpecker a few days ago in our Bradford Pear tree. Rob said he also heard
one previously in the neighborhood.
I raised a number of Ladderbacks during my years at the Wildlife Center, and
they are delightful little birds. The photo is a Ladderback I released a
couple years ago...when I opened the cage door (he'd been outdoors for a
number of days) he immediately flew over to our Bur Oak and started lapping
up ants that were trailing along on the bark with his tongue.
