Hi all,
National Audubon, along with a coalition of conservation groups, has filed a
federal lawsuit to block the gutting of the MBTA. I've written our elected
officials about this and try to keep up with Audubon's and the National
Resource Defense Council's action alerts on this issue. I hope bird lovers
will unite to fight this, especially in light of recent studies that document
a 30% decline in bird populations since 1970 (3 billion birds gone). I've
attached a link from Audubon about how to be an effective advocate in less
than 5 minutes below. :)

Hi All,
Following on Danny's post, here's another article from the NYTimes about this
policy making it legal to kill birds en masse "accidentally." I understand
this list serve is not for political purposes, but I'd like to ask if anyone
knows particular ways that I as individual or part of an organized movement
can protest this. If so, I would appreciate the lead. Though they often like
to flock together, I don't see birds as being particularly partisan, anyway.
I haven't heard a peep about this, so to speak, from the conservation
organizations I belong to.
Thank you,
