A walk through Clapp produced a couple of goodies:
Black-chinned Hummingbird
Many Blue-winged Teal
Several B-C Night Herons
One Green Heron-FOS for me
Seven Stilts
One Yellowlegs at distance-looked like a Greater but not certain
Three Snowy Egrets
And, curiously, off in the weeds by itself, one Cattle Egret!
Saw a kettle of maybe a dozen kites over the park a couple of evenings ago;
at least two today.
Sunday night, visiting a friend at Buffalo Springs Lake, we saw an Osprey,
and he mentioned that they normally have three pairs (in Summer?), but had
only seen one so far this season. Also saw an Inca Dove in flight. He
spoke of the Inca as though it was a familiar bird out there. What with all
the recent reports, it would be nice to think we might be seeing a
resurgence of this little dove.
