Hello
Yes Webviews are a challenge. At HumanWare we have designed KeySoft to honor
the Google accessibility requirements for webviews and those views which have
been properly developed with accessibility in mind do work quite well. The
google webviews are an example of this. But unfortunately those developed by
Amazon or other apps have been done without keeping the braille user in mind
and generally only work via explore by touch. We continue to improve our
webview experience but can only take it as far as the app developer allows us
to. Without building accessibility into their webviews, which Google provides
all tools to do so, the accessibility service, (KeySoft in this case), cannot
access all content smoothly.
I hope this helps clarify.
Greg

Subject: [BNU] Re: selecting text on the web, and accessible twitter client
Have you turned off the touchbraille and tried to use your touch gestures to
move around and get into the edit box. I don't think that webview speaks though
so that's a definite issue. There is obviously still a ways to go with the
touch and accessible webviews. Some of the ones that are fixed are still very
buggy and freeze a lot like in the Amazon app webview. It's a shame that
Tweetings has this one terrible webview while the rest is great.

I have not figured outhow to select text in anzthing but word myself and also I
use tweetings. I know it's an inconvenience but if you cpossibly get someone
sighted just to help you with your first login they wccnt get your password it
just logs you in through twitter. Barring that I unoftunately do not know a way
around this but certainly do agree with you on the twitter client it's clunky
and freezes more frequently. If you can get tweetings working it is fantastic.

Hi all,
I'm loving my braillenote touch but have 2 questions. First, what twitter
client are you using? I have tried twitter but find it slow and clunky. I love
tweetings on my iphone but cant log in with it on my touch. It has a web view
and I cant find anything, even with explore by touch mode.
Secondly, how do I select text from a webpage?
Thanks for any help.
Steph
