Anne I had that same problem once. You need to switch from literary
braille to computer braille. You hit backspace with a space with g.
Your touch will say computer braille. Then you can write in your
email and password. Once logged into bookshare you just do another
backspace with a g chord which is space with g, and you're touch will
say literary braille again. Good luck.<div

wrote my email address in the edit box. I'm using keyweb and I tried
the dot 7-4 for the atsign and I also tried the dot4 and dot 1 atsign.
nothing seems to take. Am I typing the atsign wrong, or maybe the
colon? Any help appreciated.
