Hi, I think you're referring to the blog? The news and press releases are for blogs. You can certaintly write about tips and tricks in articles section, with a guideline that it should be something that has not been registered on the site to avoid duplication. If you want to revise existing content, you may do that provided that your edit and words (and tone) matches surrounding text (to avoid someone getting confused due to change of tone; what you're writing can be viewed by anyone around the world, thus site admins advises using same tone and language throughout the article). The basic pages are for content which rarely changes and can only be edited by admins. These include all menu links, article lists and so forth. I'll write a short tutorial and FAQ list on how to use Drupal to manage content on BNU site soon, as well as guidelines for article and podcast submissions. Hope this helps.
