Thanks to all of you who responded so quickly. I think commas
might work, and I'll try them when this comes up again. But
also, let's just say that prompts can be very helpful when you
actually pay attention to them: as Ella reminded me, and I'd
already re-discovered it, there is, of course, the obvious option
of adding a second address, "also send to", for the first
recipients and also for any copies. As my mom would have said (I
hated this expression): "if it were a snake, it would bite you."
So, crisis resolved.
