Hey,
You have a few options. First, you can turn off the ringer by pressing and 
holding the power button until you get your options and pick the ringer option 
you would like. You can also turn off sounds in certain applications that allow 
it, such as mail. In settings, you can also turn down the alter volumes under 
sound settings.
