Try changing the braille grade setting "contracted braille" to "on" in the braille settings on your iPhone. I don't quite get your other problem.

Subject: [BNU] Questions about reading books with the Apex and iPhone

Hi all,

I'm wondering first whether iBooks or the Kindle app works better
when using the Apex as a Braille display to read books downloaded
onto an iPhone, and second whether any of you have tips or
resources on getting started with either.

Also, is there a way to make the Apex display text from the
iPhone in grade 2 Braille rather than grade 1?

Thanks!

Lucy
