My wife and I just got our BrailleNote Touches yesterday, so I'm new enough
at it that I can't answer your questions with the completeness that you
might want. But here are some initial observations.
The Web is a lot better, because the Touch uses a mobile version of Firefox
on a modified mainstream tablet.
I have seen some freezing of the browser and other programs, which seems to
generally resolve if you select the Wait option instead of closing the stuck
program.
I see the same behavior periodically in Windows 7 with Jaws, so I'm already
used to that.
It's much more stable than the Apex, though.
I haven't used the mail program yet, but my wife's pretty impressed with it
so far, and she's fussy about such things.
The Mystic Access tutorial that comes with the unit is very thorough and
thoughtfully prepared.
For me it'll take more adjustment to Android than anything else.
One major difference in the Touch versus the Apex is that in some cases you
make adjustments to the Android settings rather than in KeySoft itself-for
example, in reconnecting to wireless when needed or adding networks.
You also won't use the space bar to traverse menus. Instead you'll hit enter
and use thumb keys to go through the choices.
It looks like Humanware has put lots of thought into the Touch.
I do wonder how many Android apps will be really usable for us, but I guess
time will tell. I've only tried a couple with mixed results, but this is my
first experience with Android.
I do think I'll ultimately wish there was more storage on the system SD
card, and I'm sure I'll transfer everything on the external 3GB card to a
32-gig card.
Otherwise, very positive impressions so far.

Subject: [BNU] BN touch vs Apex
Hello,
For those who had an Apex and now own a BN touch, what are your thoughts? Is
Keyword and Keyweb better on the touch vs the Apex? Does Keyweb still freeze
or not open pages on the touch, like it did on the Apex? I am looking into
buying one. Is Keyweb more modern with the latest format on the web?
Overall, I believe the touch is promising from what I heard about it.
What about other features the Apex had? How does the touch perform compared
to that?
