As far as I am aware, the page number just needs to be on a line by
itself. There doesn’t need to be a blank line after it. Some people,
including myself, include the blank line because we just like it better.

I thought we weren't supposed to put a space between the page number and
text on the page following the break and so I haven't been; my text starts
on the line after the page number; I'm checking the pagination of this book
I'm about ready to check in;I I'm going to put more spaces before the page
break of a page and I can easily add one between the page number and text
on the next page ( hopefully without deleting the first line of text
