Hi Terry,
You access the lamp settings through the Scanner Utility, which is in the
start menu under Plustek. You'll absolutely need to use the Jaws curser (I
think you're a Jaws user) but I used to do it all the time. It's a bit
fiddly but do-able.
Alternatively, I think I would uninstall your scanner driver/software and
reinstall it.
Either way, I hope you get it fixed--what a pain!

do you press one of the keys on the body of the scanner itself? We looked at
these keys and nothing occurred to me to try.

You may need sighted help for this but there is a menu for the scanner where
you can change the lamp settings. I have a 3800 and it goes to sleep in 5
minutes por so if I don't scan. I'm not sure why this should have changed
but I'd get someone to check the menu settings for you.

Hello all,
Recently I had a problem with my computer where I couldn't type in Outlook
and a fix for this that Microsoft Disability Desk implemented and which
fixed the problem was to remove everything or most everything from my
start-up menu. Other things were done too like reinstalling Office 365.
Now, when I scan with the Opticbook 3600, the lamp needs to light everytime
I press the scan button. This means that it takes about 46 second to start a
scan for every single page even though I just scanned a page.
Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem? I'm sure it must have
something to do with the lamp having to start from scratch each time I press
the scan button even though I'm trying to do one page after the other.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.
I'd also like to mention two books which I proofed for Bookshare and which

1. The Ultimate Guide to Great Reggae: The Complete Story of Reggae Told
Through Its Greatest Songs, Famous And Forgotten by Michael Garnice, 2016
2. 1966: THE YEAR THE DECADE EXPLODED by JON SAVAGE
Both of the above books have an index of songs at the end. If you have a
smart speaker and a subscription to one of the music services, you can
listen to most of the songs described. The reggae book in particular is a
reference source which describes over 700 songs.
The book 1966 describes the songs that became popular that year and which
the author considers influential.
