Ann,

Thanks for the hint about referring to Lynx (the cat) in this fashion - much appreciated, and about HTML Tidy. I'll take a look at that and see if it has anything my other code checkers don't cover. smile.

Hi all,

My favorite is to get web designers to view their pages using lynx, and navigate it with voice commands via Dragon instead of with a keyboard or mouse. That
puts them a little closer to my world. It's sure obvious when all those
javascripts and aplets don't work, all the image links have no labels so you have no idea what the heck they are, and that pretty table they put in is just scattered text that makes as much sense as a random explosion inside a Gutenberg
bible!

Now, I like this lady. Anyone who would recommend viewing web pages with Lynx, The Cat, knows her stuff! Three cheers for you.

A word of explanation. I always refer to Lynx, The Cat, in this way to distinguish it from Links, The Chain. The screen readers make no distinction in pronunciation, so Lynx and Links sound alike.

I like Lynx, The Cat, I run it occasionally on my Linux box here. It works well on good sites. Hint, if you download a small program for your Linux shell or box while you're testing your web site in Lynx, The Cat, it may offer some help as well. It's call HTML Tidy. It catches all kinds of web code errors. Great little program.
