Cindy,

Actually, the philosophy expressed in the two books is identical. The story lines are different, but Ms. Rand is coming from the same place.

There is a third book in this genre called "Anthem." From what I've heard it's supposed to wrap up this line of thinking.

Peace,
Ernie

chuckle.

It was so long ago that I read both books, I can't
remember. I just remember that I totally agreed with
the philosophy expressed in The Fountainhead --and
loved the movie-- but I disagreed with that expressed
in Atlas Shrugged--but I can't remember why. I was a
*lot* younger then, and my opinions might be different
now.

Cindy,

Sorry I had to run without making one point that I
found fascinating about
Atlas.

While Ms. Rand had her goup of leading characters
subscribing to a
philosophy of total self involvement, John Gault had
a watchful eye on Dagne
(If I remember the spelling,) throughout the whole
book. In fact, now that
I think of it, so did that whole group of
industrialists.

All I can say is God help anyoone who would have
thought of touching her in
any way! Not me Coach!

Peace,
Ernie
