Well, timing is everything.

Glad it's a glitch and not an oversight by scannors and validators.

Thanks.

  Hi Bob,

If you look at the new books list again, you'll see that both books have
synopses. If you really want to know what happened, here it is:
I removed both books (actually 4 books) this morning, and submitted better
copies. The Bookshare program has a bug where the synopses and the categories
are copied from the old version of the books, instead of taking the synopses
and categories from the new version of the book. So after I submitted the 4
books, I went back and put in my new synopses into the new books. You happened
to look at the list, when I was halfway through. Everything should be fine
now. (And yes, Engineering has been informed of the problem, but it's not very
high in their priority queue since a workaround does exist.)

  Well, you did ask.... Carrie

I have just looked on the new books list in the collection.

The first two books did not have any synopses.

They are Journey Home by Yoshiko Uchida and The Skirt byGary Soto.

To make it on to the site without a synopsis is a daunting task.
The scannor had to fail to put one.
The validator had to fail to put one.
And the bookshare staff had to fail to put one.

In all fairness, I may be missing something, but I can't see why a book
should be allowed into the collection without some kind of synopsis. That's
the only way a casual patron can determine whether or not they want to read
  the book.

  Just my thoughts.

  Bob
