Hi Louise, Just a friendly reminder from your administrator that you should contact us if you have a specific question about a book or title that you validated and then rediscovered on the download list again. It's entirely possible, in fact more than likely, that it has absolutely nothing to do with page breaks and something to do with title information or copyright date verfication. I should also reiterate to everyone to remember to <save your work> until the book you worked on is live on Bookshare. Thanks much and enjoy your weekend! -----Original Message----- From: bksvol-discuss-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Louise Sent: Fri 12/10/2004 6:10 PM To: bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Cc: Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Will place it here too! It's probably the page break business again as it was with several of the books I recently validated! I'm also getting frustrated after all of the work I put in on a book and then to just have it put back on the download page in its original form and all of my work going down the flusher Poof!!! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Otten" <maryotten@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <bksvol-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 09, 2004 4:04 PM Subject: [bksvol-discuss] Re: Will place it here too! > Regina, > I agree that people who validate books should get a notification from the administrator or somebody regarding why what they thought was ok wasn't so ok. As you noted, if a book bounces back into the download > stack, somebody else could come along and snag it, and there goes all your or somebody else's work, because the copy the new person gets is the original, not the fixed up one that you validated. For those ones > that showed back up on the download list and you were able to see them, did you look in the comments section for the book to see if the admin left a comment? I wonder if there is some weirdness going on with the > software making validated books pop back into step one without the admin intending for that to happen. It seems weird that 5 books would all be rejected. > Mary > > > >
