Ben has a good point about LOX at atmospheric pressure and then adding
high-pressure nitrogen: the nitrogen next to the LOX surface could actually
liquefy. We did a LOX hybrid like that and may have had that happen without
knowing! The pressurization seemed to work fine, though we did have a
pretty big Aqua Environment regulator for the nitrogen. It would have been
interesting to see if some liquid nitrogen actually got pushed into the
engine at the end of the burn. But our igniters burned through and the
whole thing turned into a disaster before we got to the end of the burn.

If you are sniffing the outlet you absolutely MUST use dry AIR as
Paul says, not dry NITROGEN so you don't suffocate yourself. I
