Abort is under the control of range safety; the RSO acts independently of 
anyone.  Traditionally, no formal questioning of the RSO's decision on when or 
whether to abort is considered acceptable.

That said, if the command distruct signal had any effect, one would expect to 
see a fragmentation event when the signal was sent.
